The Institute for Intercultural Studies and Research is subordinated to the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures of "Dimitrie Cantemir" Christian University, Bucharest.
The main goal of the Institute is the understanding, the study and the research of models, realities and forms of knowledge and opening to a cultural environment that is different from the native one. The Institute's activity includes any activity and any type of cooperation which is useful to the achievement of its objectives, such as: binding agreements and bilateral and multicultural contracts or providing various types of services for third parties within the legal partnership framework of "Dimitrie Cantemir" Christian University.
MAIN OBJECTIVES
1. Research activities regarding models of intercultural communication.
2. Specific activities for developing the management of intercultural competencies necessary to specialists of various profesional areas to open to a multi and intercultural environment with the preservation of the specificity of cultural identity.
3. Starting and developing thematic research international networks, common databases and discussion forums, having as its final aim the production of research and institutional development strategies in the domain of intercultural studies.
4. Creating a website and a biannual informative bulletin in order to promote the activity of the Institute.
5. Disseminating and debating on the research results through conferences, public symposia, press conferences, seminars, round tables, exchange programs, trainings and team-buildings with specialists in Romania and abroad.
6. Valorification of the Institute's publicatios, of the research results and of the finalized projects in order to formulate pragmatic solutions and organizational strategies necessary for decision making.
7. Providing consultancy in multi and intercultural models research.
8. Including the Institute's journal in higher evaluation categories and indexing it in International Databases.
